Fall in the Finger Lakes Photo Contest! Rules


Listeners are invited to submit their photos from the Finger Lakes area taken in the fall. The submission period for this contest will run from Monday, September 23, 2019 at 5AM to Monday, November 11, 2019 at 5AM. The voting period for this contest will begin Monday, November 11, 2019 at 5:01 AM and run until Friday, November 15, 2019 at 9AM. Listeners are allowed one entry per person. When the voting period opens listeners will be allowed to vote once per day. Photo’s must be of the Upstate New York taken during the fall and can be from previous years. Any photos submitted that are found not to contain the aforementioned items will not be accepted and will result in the disqualification of the entrant.

Our (one) winner will be contacted by phone and have their first name/city posted online. If the winner is unreachable after 2 days starting the day of the drawing the prize will be given to the next eligible entrant. Listeners must be 18 years or older to win.

We will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner and notify them within 2 days after the drawing.

Must be 18+ to enter. One entry per person per week. Submitting more than one entry per person per week will invalidate all entries by that contestant. Any entry submitted on behalf of another individual or using another person’s email address or name will be disqualified and ineligible to claim any prize. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries allowed by using same, multiple/different email addresses, identities, or any other methods void that participant’s entries and that participant may be disqualified. in the event of a dispute as to any on-line registration, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address sued to register will be deemed to be the registrant and he/she must be eligible according to these official rules. No mechanically reproduced or automated entries permitted. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification and all such entries will be deemed void.

Listeners can vote once per day during the voting round.  Voting is limited to one vote per verified email address.  If an entrant receives irregular votes from the same user or users, including but not limited to, votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, other automated means or other source, WYXL/WQNY/WIII/WHCU/WNYY/WYXL-HD2/WFIZ/WFIZ-HD2/WYXL-HD3/WQNY-HD3 reserves the right to disqualify the entrant in its sole discretion.

Entries containing inappropriate photos or music will be disqualified. Any photograph submitted to any of the cluster stations will become property of the stations. The stations will have final say of what content is appropriate for the website. No use of indecent or obscene material, no content or material that is illegal, contains nudity or is sexually explicit, or by law, obscene, profane, or pornographic is permitted.

By entering this contest, you are verifying that you are the owner and producer of the submitted material and that no third-party ownership rights exist to the photo submitted. By entering you verify that whomever is seen in the photo are either pictures of the entrant or the entrant’s minor child(ren). If the entrant is unable to waive its rights to publication or waive its minors’ rights to publication, the entrant will be asked to submit a new photo. Cayuga Radio Group may deem any entry to be ineligible in its sole discretion.

WYXL/WQNY/WIII/WHCU/WNYY/WYXL-HD2/WFIZ/WFIZ-HD2/WYXL-HD3/WQNY-HD3 contests are open to all eligible New York and Pennsylvania residents 21 or older have not won anything on WYXL/WQNY/WIII/WHCU/WNYY/WYXL-HD2/WFIZ/WFIZ-HD2/WYXL-HD3/WQNY-HD3 in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

Employees of WYXL/WQNY/WIII/WHCU/WNYY/WYXL-HD2/WFIZ/WFIZ-HD2/WYXL-HD3/WQNY-HD3, Cayuga Radio Group, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the WYXL/WQNY/WIII/WHCU/WNYY/WYXL-HD2/WFIZ/WFIZ-HD2/WYXL-HD3/WQNY-HD3 main studio are not eligible to win any contest.

This contest is being run concurrently and simultaneously in Ithaca New York between radio stations associated with the Cayuga Radio Group and listeners of said stations will be competing against each other for the same prize. These rules supersede the rules found on the Second Street platform.
