Bombers, Red Dragons set for 64th Cortaca Jug game Saturday in Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – The ‘biggest little game in America’ is set for Saturday in Ithaca.

Gates at Ithaca College’s Butterfield Stadium will open at 10 a.m. tomorrow for the 64th Cortaca Jug football game. Tickets are sold out. No bags are allowed, and fans will be subject to search upon entry.

SUNY Cortland and IC come into the game as champions in their respective leagues with identical 8 -1 records. Both teams are nationally ranked, and the Red Dragons and Bombers will move on to NCAA playoffs next week regardless of the outcome on Saturday. Ithaca College is 38-25 in Jug games since the series started in 1959, and 43-34-3 in the overall series since the two schools began playing each other in 1930.

Kickoff is at 12:00 noon.
