CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – A Crown City business is relocating.

The Cortland Standard is moving from its historic building.

Beginning September 2, the Standard will operate out of the old Sarvay Shoe Building at 50 Main Street, according to the newspaper’s Facebook page.

The move follows the sale and relaunch of the Standard in May, after it closed earlier this year for financial reasons.

Cortland Common Council recently authorized Mayor Scott Steve to pursue a $500,000 grant for renovations at the original historic building, which housed the newspaper for over 150 years.

The money would come from the New York Main Street Anchor Program and would require a 25% local match from the building owners.
