VARNA, NY (607NewsNow) – Health officials are seeking information about a dog bite in Varna.
On April 24, a jogger was bitten on the Monkey Run Trail near the Freese Road foot bridge between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The dog is described as a medium to large black poodle being walked by two people, likely a couple, who appeared to be white and between the ages of 60 and 70. The dog was off-leash.
The Tompkins County Whole Health Department’s Environmental Health Division wants to verify the dog’s health over a ten-day observation period to rule out post-rabies exposure treatment.
Anyone with information is asked to call (607) 274-6688.
