(607NewsNow) — Our pets of the week start with Myrtle (Top L) and Lucy (Top R) from CNY Snap.

Myrtle is had been living on the street until someone rescued her in July 2024. She was extremely shy when she came to the shelter but has been learning to be more comfortable and trusting with people. She’s a quiet and gentle cat who often hangs out with the other cats. A calm home that gives her time to become comfortable and settle in would be ideal for her. Myrtle has been spayed, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Lucy is a calm girl that was surrendered in April 2025 when her owner had to move and was unable to continue to care for her. Lucy is calm and tends to hang off to the side in the busy shelter and is a quiet and friendly cat. She can be approached slowly as she is still a bit cautious and would do well in calm, loving home that gives her the patience she needs. She has also been spayed, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Next, we have Gunner (Bottom L) and Bowie (Bottom R) from the Cortland County SPCA. Gunner is three years old and is a sweet and friendly dog. He’s known around the shelter for his gentle, goofy, and cuddly nature. While he experiences some anxiety being in the shelter, he thrives when he’s in a calmer environment and can show his lovable personality. Going for a long walk and having time to snuggle with his favorite people is an ideal day for Gunner.

Bowie is also three years old and is a gentle giant. He is very sweet and is always ready to play, but loves to take a nap with his favorite people just as much. Although he is a big boy, he is extremely easy-going and is known for his friendliness.
