(607NewsNow) — Our pets of the week start with Chilly (Top L) and Tigger (Top R) from CNY Snap.

Chilly is around 3 years old and came to the shelter from the streets in December 2023 and was a terrified mother of two kittens. Chilly has been learning that she can trust people. At one point, she hid in the corner of an open cage and wouldn’t leave it for weeks. Now, she will meow to get attention and wants to be pet but gets nervous when someone gets next to her. She’s always watching and getting braver about getting closer to people. The busy shelter is a bit overwhelming for her, so she needs a quiet environment with a patient person and probably no dogs. She has been spayed, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Tigger is about 2 years old and is currently in foster placement. She was rescued from outside and came to Snap with her three brothers as feral young cats. The foster mom has been helping her to adjust living with people and said she has become a good house cat, enjoying cuddling, playing with her toys, and hanging out with other cats. She has also been spayed, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Next, we have Michael (Bottom L) and Maizey (Bottom R) from the Cortland County SPCA. Michael is a little over 2 years old and is very particular about his people and tends to bond most closely with women, choosing his favorites carefully and loving them deeply. Michael prefers a calm environment where he can feel safe and in control and needs a home that is patient with him and gives him time to become comfortable.

Maizey is 3 years old and was given up for adoption after her owners moved and couldn’t take her with them. She is a bit shy but very sweet, often approaching people who give her attention. Although she is a little reserved, she has lots of love to give and would thrive in a home where she knew she was safe and cared for.
