Red Cross announces upcoming blood drives in Cortland and Tompkins Counties

CORTLAND AND TOMPKINS COUNTIES, NY (607NewsNow) — The American Red Cross is calling on community members to roll up their sleeves and donate blood at several upcoming blood drives in Tompkins and Cortland counties. With summer shortages putting pressure on blood supplies, now is a critical time to give.

Tompkins County Drives:

  • Dryden Fire Department (26 North Street, Dryden, NY)
    Wednesday, August 27 | 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
    Donors who give from August 1st to 28th will receive a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of their choice. In addition, the Red Cross is offering free A1C testing (used to screen for prediabetes and diabetes) for successful donations. Learn more at rcblood.org/Test.

  • Tompkins County Health Department (55 Brown Road, Ithaca, NY)
    Saturday, September 13 | 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
    From August 29th to September 21st, donors will receive an exclusive Red Cross x PEANUTS® mystery bag containing one of four limited-edition T-shirt designs, available while supplies last.

Cortland County Drives:

  • Port Watson Mini Conference Center (131 Port Watson Street, Cortland, NY)
    Monday, August 18 | 12:00 PM – 4:30 PM
    Eligible donors will receive a $15 e-gift card and free A1C testing for donations made August 1st to 28th. Details: rcblood.org/Test.

  • Port Watson Mini Conference Center
    Tuesday, September 23 | 11:30 AM – 4:30 PM
    Donors who give between September 22nd through October 19th will receive a $10 Amazon.com Gift Card by email. More info at rcblood.org/fall.
