OWEGO, NY (607NewsNow) – The third person charged with murder in the killing of Ithaca man Thomas Rath is guilty.

On February 20, the jury delivered the verdict in Jonathan Glennon’s trial.

Glennon, of Ithaca, was found not guilty of first-degree murder, but guilty of second-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping. Out of 13 people originally arrested in association with the crime, Glennon, Angelo Baez, and Joseph Howell were the only ones charged with murder in the abduction and killing of Rath, who was taken from a homeless encampment in Ithaca in May 2023.

Rath’s body was found in August 2023 in a shallow grave off Ekroos Road in Tioga County. Both Baez and Howell were also convicted.

Glennon faces up to 25 years to life on the murder charge, and 15 to 25 years minimum on the kidnapping charge. According to the Owego Pennysaver, pre-sentencing investigations will determine if the terms will be served concurrently or consecutively.
