CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — The Yankees are approaching a tough test.

On Saturday, New York will begin a five-game playoff series against Tampa Bay. The Rays finished 4.5 games ahead of the Yankees in the regular season.

SUNY Cortland Head Baseball Coach Joe Brown said the Rays will be a tough matchup.

“They have very good pitching, and they have a lot of it,” he said. “I think the Tampa Bay Rays play tremendously fearless baseball.”

Brown said the series will be a “good challenge” for the Yankees. Earlier this week, New York swept Boston in the Wild Card round.
